Bidding March a fond farewell

We managed to end March on a high note!  In some ways I feel like this month has flown by but I also feel like we enjoyed it to its fullest.  Looking back on posts, we sure did fill our days outside enjoying the great weather that we had all month long.  

We had a great afternoon with friends on Friday.  We picked Campbell up from school and met the Kaspars at Tutti Frutti.  After yogurt, Ely and Campbell were not yet ready to part company, so we hit Parr park.  It was a very short visit before the babies started to meltdown.  Again, the big kids had not gotten quite enough of each other yet, so Campbell came over for an extended play date.  It was wonderful to have her over.  Not only is she a precious girl who is so easy to have around, Campbell has an unrivalled zest for life.  It is contagious.  Ely had such fun with her - she was willing to hunt rolly polies with him and go for a car date!  

Friday night we decided to have our first Central Market dinner of the year.  I have mentioned how much I love this place in some posts last year.  It did not disappoint.  No matter our best efforts, we can't get out the door early enough to have a relaxing dinner and get the twins in bed on time.  So, we just decided to enjoy a relaxing dinner and got the kids in bed about an hour and a half late.  With so much to look at the babies stayed pretty entertained and didn't get too fussy.  To make the night even better, we were joined by the McNew family.  We don't get together with them often enough; however, t-ball has been the great re-uniter!  Hudson and Ely are on the same team and it is so fun to see them each week now!

After t-ball on Saturday morning (no pictures this time around), Ely had the first egg hunt of the season.  This one is held in our neighborhood.  It was so close and fun!  He was totally ready for the candy and even posed with the Easter bunny without a fight...woohoo!

After the Easter egg hunt (no pictures of the babies because they napped instead of hunting eggs - their time will come), we rushed off to another first, Luke's first haircut.  His hair wasn't crazy but it was getting to be quite a party in the back, so he had his first visit with Ms. Sherry - our favorite haircutter!  She did a great job and he is all ready for Easter pictures now!  Molly's hair is still a bit crazy but I wasn't ready to cut hers just yet.

After our fun filled family day, Al and I headed off for a date night.  It was a great one.  We started with dinner at Winewood Grill in Grapevine.  Just the two of us.  We scored patio seating which was perfect.  Afterwards we met up with friends at Chill.  It was a blast.  We don't get to do this often but when we do it certainly is worth the wait.  Thanks to Leah for babysitting for us and making it possible for a little adult time.

 Most people started leaving around 11:45 but we joined the Cheathams on the dance floor for a little while.  Did you know there is a new dance sort of like the electric slide?  I had no idea people were still making these dances up :)  Missy really caught on to it - me, not so much!  I am impressed Matt could cut a rug so well considering he recently had knee surgery!  Way to power through, Matt!
