Yet again, I am behind!

As soon as I get caught up with the blog I fall behind again!

A quick recap...
We (Ely, Luke, Molly, and I) spent the last weeks of August in Alabama. Thankfully, mom flew to Dallas again to help me fly home with the kids. We had a full 24 hours in Dallas while she was here-6 month check ups for the babies, packing, date night with Al, etc. After an uneventful flight to Birmingham, I ran errands all over town and then we spent the rest of the 10 days at the lake. It was wonderful. The weather was near perfect with cooler temps and just 2 rainy days. We were able to spend our visit with a lot of Grammy time, our cousin Brett and his precious girlfriend, Ashley and her family and Shelley and her family. We also go to see Al's cousin Emily, and brother Graham and Leslie Ann. The only thing I would have changed is if we could have avoided the "plague" (a nasty stomach bug that travelled through the house).

I had high hopes of taking Molly and Luke to their first football game but it was just too hot that Saturday. We were able to spend a nice morning at the lake and then a fun afternoon tailgating and walking around campus. Ely had a ball at the game with the rest of the family and cousins. We were all excited when Al came on Sunday to spend the day with us and to help fly our little family back home.

The lowest part of our trip was the flight home. After spending 7 hours in the Birmingham airport for a flight that was supposed to leave at 5:30 pm, actually left at 1:30am. It will be a flight that we will never forget. Despite a few tears (by the babies, not me!) all 3 kids did an amazingly well and we were all thankful to be home, even if it was in the wee hours of the morning.

Since the trip to Alabama, Ely has started his new pre-school, we celebrated the twins 7th month (I guess that really happened at the lake), we have had teeth coming and going (future post on that), we have celebrated Ey's 5th birthday and so on and so on.  It seems as if things aren't slowing down around here!
