Around the Baseball Park

The highlight to spring was, once again, playing t-ball for the Rangers.  We had a great season being the #2 team most of the time and Ely's team ended up 2nd place in the end of season tournament!  He was disappointed with loosing the last game but every 6 year old needs a lesson in graceful winning and loosing!

Al was an assistant coach for the first time this year.  He did a great job reining his emotions and expectations.  When he did get heated very few parents thought he was over-reacting.  He loved being more involved with the team and I think Ely enjoyed having him on the field as well!  Al took the last loss of the season just as hard as Ely did.

Molly and Luke have started enjoying the time at the baseball parks more.  There are still lots of toys to tow around and fits to overcome, but each game brought a little more independent play.

Ely did make All Starts this season.  The difficult part was that the kids played coach pitch baseball instead of t-ball.  Colleyville has a great organization but other cities in our surrounding area are much more intense at 6 years that we are.  We won a few games and lost a few.  It was a great experience and we look forward to baseball again in the spring.

Our sweet teacher, Mrs. Hill, came out to cheer on our boys!

One The only perk of loosing a Sunday morning game in a single elimination tournament is enjoying lunch outdoors before the Church rush!  Mrs. Hill told us about a fun restaurant right on Lake Grapevine.  We ate burgers and hotdogs and the kids had a blast feeding the fish.
